Dr.
Wooley grew up in Oregon, graduated form the University of Oregon
in the late 1960’s and received his dental degree in 1971 from
the University of Oregon Dental School. He practiced as a general
dentist in the U.S. Navy and in private practice in California before
returning to orthodontic school at the Oregon Health Sciences University
in Portland. |
| Soon
after graduation, he opened his orthodontic practice in Milwaukie
and Portland and has been there since. Dr. Wooley is a member of the
American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of
Orthodontists and the Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, as well
as many other national, state and local dental societies. |
| Dr.
Wooley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. This
means that he has gone through 10 years of additional study and testing
after orthodontic school, and has passed all required American Board
Exams to become Board Certified. Dr. Wooley is one of 6 Board Certified
orthodontists in the greater Portland area. |
| Dr.
Wooley is also a member of the Angle Society of Orthodontists. This
society was started by Dr. E. H. Angle over 100 years ago. It is the
most prestigious of all orthodontic societies. It is by invitation
only and requires 5 years of very vigorous testing to become a member
after being invited. Dr. Wooley is one of 3 practicing orthodontists
in the greater Portland area who are members of the Angle Society.
There are 550 members worldwide out of approximately 20,000 orthodontists. |
